Section outline

    • If you want to use the Digital GeoLab (DGL), you need to strictly adhere to the lab rules.

If you don’t, you may be banned from the premises. Please confirm in the request below that you have read and understood both the rules and the data protection information.
    • Lab Rules
      1. In the case of an emergency please call the general emergency number 112. Additionally, inform the internal emergency hotline (3333). You can use the lab telephone to do so which is located in room 007. Fire extinguisher, first-aid kit and defibrillator are provided in the walkway/hall in front of the lab

      2. All escape and rescue routes have to be kept clear at all times. You can find more information on the escape and recue chart which is displayed on the wall between rooms 002 and 003.

      3. Smoking and the consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden in all rooms.

      4. If you adjust the height of the worktables, there is the hazard of squeezing your fingers or other members. Therefore, please ensure that no obstacles are blocking the table top when lifting or lowering the table. Likewise, ensure that there is sufficient distance to the neighbouring tables.
At the end of the working day, adjust the tables again to your seating position.

      5. Ensure proper handling of equipment (PC, mouse, keyboard, etc.).

      6. It is not allowed to place or consume food or drink at the PC workplaces.

      7. After using the PC, you need to save your data and log out as a user. If you don’t follow this rule, data loss can be a severe risk. To store your data, please use your personal drive partition (L:\) in the network.
The PCs will remain switched on until the end of the working day.
For further information on backing up work data, please refer to the following note: Memory usage on the computers.

      8. If you find any faults on the equipment, please inform the DGL per e-mail: dgl@thga.de.

      9. When leaving the rooms make sure the windows are closed and the air-conditioning is switched off.

      10. Please read the “Information on processing personal data in image and sound recordings” which is included below.

      11. Questions about the laboratory rules can be sent by e-mail to dgl@thga.de.

    • Information on processing personal data in image and sound recordings
For information on processong personal Data in the Digital GeoLab open the following "Textbox Datenschutz".
    • Information on processing personal data in image and sound recordings in room 004 of the Digital GeoLab (DGL)

Room 004 at DGL is equipped with microphones and cameras to allow for an automatic broadcast and recording of live teaching sessions creating image and sound recordings of lectures and presentations.

The recording equipment focusses on the person(s) presenting as well as the content presented in the lecture in order to broadcast those or make them accessible to an entitled user group via the Internet or an internal video management system. However, it can happen that attendants of the lecture will be recorded to if they move in the recording range of the camera or if they contribute by speaking.

The following zones of the room will be recorded:

Please pay attention to optical signals in the room that will help you recognise if a recording is in progress. To participate in the lecture without being recorded, you have the following options:

      ·         Do not leave the room during a recording to avoid entering the recording range.

      ·         Follow the lecture in room 007 via the live-stream broadcast into that room.

The body responsible for the data processing is

Technische Hochschule Georg Agricola (THGA), state-acknowledged university of applied sciences managed by DMT-Gesellschaft für Lehre und Bildung mbH

THGA is a dependent operational unit of DMT-LB, represented by its management: Prof. Susanne Lengyel (president), Prof. Dr. Sunhild Kleingärtner, Ulrich Wessel

When entering the room, you imply your permission of the respective processing of the data being recorded or broadcast according to Art. 6(1) lit. of GDPR. You can revoke this permission at any time by stating the actual recording, the lecturer’s name if needed, date and time of the recording in an email to moodle@thga.de. Then, any recording of you and/or your spoken contribution will be made unrecognisable in the lecture recording.

If the recording is published on the Internet, full control of the recording and its copies is no longer possible. If you revoke your permission, we can only work on copies in our scope of control.

However, all recordings will be deleted once they are no longer needed for online teaching purposes (offering access to recorded lectures).

If you want to avoid any data processing in any case, do not enter room 004 for a lecture. The stream is broadcast to room 007 where no recording equipment is in place and you can watch the lecture there.
