Information on processing personal data in image and
sound recordings in room 004 of the Digital GeoLab (DGL)
Room 004 at DGL is equipped with microphones and cameras to allow for an automatic broadcast and recording of live teaching
sessions creating image and sound recordings of lectures and presentations.
The recording equipment focusses on the person(s)
presenting as well as the content presented in the lecture in order to broadcast
those or make them accessible to an entitled user group via the Internet or an
internal video management system. However, it can happen that attendants of
the lecture will be recorded to if they move in the recording range of the
camera or if they contribute by speaking.
The following zones of the room will be recorded:
Please pay attention to optical signals in the room that will help you recognise if a recording is in progress. To participate in the lecture without being recorded, you have the following options:
· Do not leave the room during a recording to avoid entering the recording range.
· Follow the lecture in room 007 via the live-stream broadcast into that room.

When entering the room, you imply your permission of the respective processing of the data being recorded or broadcast according to Art. 6(1) lit. of GDPR. You can revoke this permission at any time by stating the actual recording, the lecturer’s
name if needed, date and time of the recording in an email to moodle@thga.de. Then, any recording of you and/or your spoken contribution will be made unrecognisable in the lecture recording.
If the recording is published on the Internet, full control of the recording and its copies is no longer possible. If you revoke your permission, we can only work on copies in our scope of control.
However, all recordings will be deleted once they are no longer needed for online teaching purposes (offering access to recorded lectures).
If you want to avoid any data processing in any case, do not enter room 004 for a lecture. The stream is broadcast to room 007 where no recording equipment is in place and you can watch the lecture there.
